Background

Ante la rápida expansión del despliegue de fibra y las bases de clientes en constante crecimiento, los proveedores de servicios necesitan gestionar los datos de manera eficiente. El panorama de servicios moderno, caracterizado por aplicaciones basadas en datos, iniciativas de transformación digital y la presencia ubicua de dispositivos conectados, no exige nada menos.

Sin embargo, encuentran desafíos sustanciales en el sistema tradicional de extracción, transformación y carga (ETL). Client Situation

Nuestro cliente es uno de los principales proveedores de conectividad de fibra del Reino Unido. Operan una red de telecomunicaciones exclusiva para empresas en todo el Reino Unido que proporciona soluciones de colaboración y conectividad de fibra de alta capacidad. Además, invirtieron en el crecimiento de la red para facilitar una conectividad perfecta para sus clientes en todas las ubicaciones.

Con su base de clientes en expansión, al cliente le resultó difícil administrar grandes cantidades de datos relacionados con la conectividad de la red, el rendimiento, el uso del cliente, la facturación y otros aspectos operativos.

Para abordar estos desafíos, el cliente decidió asociarse con Prodapt. La tarea era reemplazar los recursos heredados de su centro de datos ETL con nuevas tecnologías y métodos migrando trabajos ETL complejos desde un sistema local a una solución ETL basada en la nube.

Diagnosis

Para empezar, nuestros expertos realizaron un análisis en profundidad de la herramienta ETL del cliente y encontraron desafíos adicionales. Un desafío importante surgió del almacenamiento de datos disperso, ya que los datos ETL existentes estaban distribuidos tanto en entornos locales como en la nube. Esta configuración de datos de doble ubicación no solo generó problemas de compatibilidad sino también de coherencia de los datos.

Además, la integración de aplicaciones antiguas de facturación y gestión de servicios de TI (ITSM) utilizando canales de datos modernos implicaba la migración de datos a soluciones ETL basadas en la nube, lo cual era complejo y requería transformaciones y conectores especializados.

Solving It

Prodapt aprovechó todo el potencial de AWS para migrar trabajos de ETL desde el sistema existente del cliente a ETL basado en la nube. Este cambio estratégico reduce significativamente los gastos de ETL con licencia.

Aprovechamos las funciones de escalabilidad integradas de AWS S3 para garantizar que los crecientes volúmenes de datos se almacenen bien. AWS Identity Access Management (IAM) (Gestión de acceso a identidades de AWS) ayudó a permitir el acceso a datos confidenciales para el personal autorizado. Se diseñó un nuevo marco de Python para abordar los desafíos de compatibilidad de herramientas, garantizando una gestión de datos segura y escalable durante ETL.

Nuestra solución de gestión de datos basada en la nube se integró perfectamente en la facturación del cliente, garantizando cargos precisos basados en el uso de datos y los planes de servicio. Se utilizó la integración de herramientas de gestión de servicios de TI (ITSM) para la gestión y automatización de servicios. Esto ayudó al proveedor de servicios a manejar los incidentes de red, el mantenimiento y la atención al cliente de manera más efectiva. Utilizando API y conectores versátiles, permitimos un intercambio fluido de datos entre diferentes sistemas y aplicaciones en varios formatos de datos.

Además, nuestros expertos planificaron y ejecutaron meticulosamente la migración, garantizando una interrupción mínima y un rendimiento máximo.
